Opinions on these home insurers please

can believe what i am reading, so unfair

All offering reasonably competitive quotes for different reasons, ideally I’d like to just find one and commit to it, I hate changing around ever year!

Tesco
Naturesave
Morethan
asda
admiral
ehome

Is there anyone else good I should be considering? Its strange that naturesave only get 1 star on defaqto, looking at their policy summary they look excellent.

Paying life insurance for mortgage cover twice

September 5th, 2010

like our content consider our rss feed!

We have stupidly just realized we have been paying for life insurance to cover our mortgage twice for a very long time . My wife rang to cancel but it obviously carried on and it was so long ago we have no record of trying to cancel. One of the companies involved changed its name which added to our stupidity . Can anything be claimed back or do we have to live with our stupidity

I’m hoping someone could help me understand what I am choosing here, and that I am opting for the right things.

I’ve gone to the Cavendish Online site as recommended on the info section of MSE.

DH and I are expecting our first baby in a few weeks. :j

I want both of us to not need to work should the other die.

Been sued over car accident

more news brought to your by our blog, thanks for visiting

Hello,

I’m new to the forum, so I so sorry if this is in the wrong place, i just really need some advice! My friend was in a car accident 3 years ago, where she ran in the back of someone at low speed.

She has now received a letter from a court saying that she has to pay court costs for a recent claim made by the driver of the other car for injuries. Now my friend has never recevied any other paperwork to suggest that this court case was happening! Can they do this without hearing her side of the story first and without notifying her?

any advice would be so welcoming! thanks!! :)

Damage to Kitchen Units which are now discontinued

August 30th, 2010

no load life insurance quote

Hi

I have noticed that the pelmet on the bottom of my wall cupboard is melted probably from having a toaster underneath. I have always used a toaster on my worktops without problems before! I have made enquiries about replacing this pelmet as we are putting the house on the market and want to sell it with a kitchen in perfect condition and find that our 5 year old kitchen is discontinued. I have done more research and the company that manufactured my kitchen has ceased trading. What do I do? I cannot expect an insurance company to pay for a new kitchen but wonder what would happen had say a door been badly damaged. Just what could I expect an insurance company to do regarding the pelmet that I cannot get hold of now?

Any suggestions?

Maggie

Home insurance – end terrace versus Semi

August 30th, 2010

if people only knew

We have just registered a claim for storm damage (roof). It appears that our house is registered with the insurance company as an end terrace when it is actually a semi-detached. when corrected, the adviser informed us that this may affect the claim.
Why would this be, would the home insurance premiums be different?

mortgage insurances

if people only knew

Hi all

We are currently buying our first home, and I am a little confused about the relevant insurances.
We understand the only required insurance is buildings. Obviously we will take that out and contents.
The mortagage broker says life insurance should be term not decreasing, but we can’t see the problem with decreasing? Any views?
Also, accident sickness and unemaployment? Worth having? Or just add critical illness to the life policy?
HELP lol. Don’t want to be under covered but don’t want to be an idiot and insure because broker told us too……

any help appreciated
